Centene Corporation Senior Application Architect in Tallahassee, Florida

Position Purpose:

Designs, developments, and deployments of the enterprise architectural software systems. Defines system solutions based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms. Researches, identifies, selects, and tests technology products required for solution delivery. Establishes, implements, and documents the technology integration or migration strategies. This role will work with various teams in the Quality Technology Strategy areas to design solutions, patterns, and applications focused on improving our STARS scores and measuring the Quality of our Provider Network.

  • Leads application architecture vision for services using technology stacks with a core focus on security, resiliency, scalability, supportability, and performance.

  • Defines requirements and architecture necessary to meet business objectives.

  • Investigates and advises on third-party integrations to develop requirements and architecture associated with external interfaces, protocols, and interoperability with other applications.

  • Collaborates with product and engineering teams to design and build services that meet key product and infrastructure requirements.

  • Delivers both high-level and detailed design for platform and product services.

  • Authors clean, scalable, modular, secure, well-structured, and testable code as needed.

  • Designs and implements microservices with thoughtfully defined APIs.

  • Ensures deployed software can run safely with the proper level of instrumentation and telemetry.

  • Owns designed software/service components from ideation through delivery.

  • Delivers and communicates architecture decisions, roadblocks, and timelines to stakeholders.

  • Reviews system(s) code and provides feedback to engineering teams.

  • Provides mentoring, coaching and skill development to engineering teams.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Education/Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science).

Requires 4 – 6 years of related experience.

Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.

Technical Skills:

  • One or more of the following skills are desired:

  • Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS)

  • Experience with Platform as a Service (PaaS)

  • Experience with Infrastructure As A Service (IaaS)

  • Experience with AWS, Snowflake, ETL tools, Teradata, Control M, Aurora, PostgreSQL, API's, GoLand, and Power BI

  • Experience with Jenkins

  • Experience with GitHub or similar CI/CD technologies

  • Experience with documenting software architecture and building frameworks for development teams

Soft Skills:

  • Intermediate - Seeks to acquire knowledge in area of specialty

  • Intermediate - Ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

  • AWS Certified Solution Architect, nice to have

Pay Range: $97,000.00 - $179,500.00 per year

Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
